243 comments on the Big Wave project DEIR have delayed the EIR

The environmental research firm Christopher A. Joseph & Associates (CAJA) was scheduled to deliver the Big Wave EIR administrative draft to Lisa Grote, San Mateo County Community Development Director on January 12, 2010.  The EIR was not delivered as scheduled and may not be delivered until February. 

The original schedule produced by Lisa Grote allowed CAJA eleven working days to review public comments on the DEIR, respond to all comments and produce the EIR. The schedule was unrealistic.  CAJA has requested additional time to review and respond to over 240 comments.  

This week planner Camille Leung said, "The anticipated date for the final EIR has been pushed back to late February or early March and the hearing dates will be moved back."
